CAMONGO’S LIST OF BENGALI FILM RELEASES IN NOVEMBER 2025

The Academy of Fine Arts – The Academy of Fine Arts (not to be confused with the multidisciplinary space for artists) is a thriller in which a gang of criminals pull off a seemingly perfect heist by stealing a liquor bottle that’s worth millions from a notorious gang leader. But that’s not the end of the story. Rather, what begins as a clean operative initially transforms into a murky affair where players indulge in betrayal, bloodshed, and long-buried secrets. Soon, they realize that this is a game of survival. Directed by Jayabrata Das and produced by Prateek Chakravorty, The Academy of Fine Arts features Rudranil Ghosh, Payal Sarkar, Sourav Das, Rishav Basu, Rahul Banerjee, Sudip Mukherjee and others.

Deri Hoye Geche – “It’s late”, the title of the film goes and we watch two ex-lovers in their sunset years coming together once again in Deri Hoye Geche. One is a retired policeman and he has a record of gutsy encounters. Now, he has made his way to Bolpur where his widowed ex-love leads a solitary life and runs a homestay. What happens when the two meet after decades? What are the questions they are seeking answers to? This forms the landscape of Deri Hoye Geche that is sprinkled with a dash of bad guys’ actions and how the aging cop deals with them. The lead characters are played by Anjan Dutt and Mamata Shankar. Deri Hoye Geche is directed by Saptaswa Basu and produced by Saptarshi Sen.

Ranna Bati – A family drama that delves into our favourite topics of romance and food and how the latter has the power to heal. Widowed father Shantanu chances upon his late wife’s handwritten recipes of dishes that she lovingly prepared for her near and dear ones. It marks the beginning of a deeply emotional journey to reconnect with his daughter with whom he is no longer in touch. Chef Rita steps in to team up and with her support, his kitchen transforms into a place that is full of fun moments and laughter, of healing at a deeper level and the courage to cast aside his vulnerabilities and trust life once again. Ritwick Chakraborty, Sohini Sarkar, Barun Chanda, Anirban Chakrabarti, and Solanki Roy form the lead cast of Ranna Bati. The film is directed by Pratim D. Gupta and produced by Pradip Kumar Nandy.

Haati Haati Paa Paa – How does one put into words the priceless bond between a loving parent and a child? The kind of magical role reversal that takes place when the parent has grown has frail and unsure of how life is unfolding and the child is grown-up, confident, independent, with a mind of her own? Doubtless, it becomes a story of delicate and yet super strong connection between the two individuals at the same time where one understands the other perfectly. Haati Haati Paa Paa is the heartwarming story of an aged father (played by Chiranjeet Chakraborty) and his young daughter (Rukmini Maitra) that is playing in halls right now. Haati Haati Paa Paa is directed by Arnab K. Middya and produced by Arunava Middya.
