Four Iconic Bangla Bands Have Teamed Up to Delight Us
Folks, it is that time of the year already and music buffs among us are looking forward to music concerts in the city as the air turns nice and pleasant. Years may come, years may go, and many things will change in life over time but if there is something you can count as ‘timeless’, it is the thrill of your favorite music band playing in real time right in front of you. Now, Go Everywhere takes this timelessness a notch higher by bringing together not one or two but four iconic Bangla bands who are set to perform at the first-ever Unity Concert 2025 on November 01, 2025 at Gitanjali Stadium.
Sambuddha Ghosh, Director – Go Everywhere Tours and Travels, believes in a simple philosophy. He tells us,” The Bengali thrives on three basics – food, travel, music.” Noticing how on longish road journeys across Europe his guests preferred to tune in to Bengali band numbers, he decided to take this connection a level higher. How about a concert of Bangla bandsright here in the city?Ghosh himself loves the pageantry that’s associated with Bangla bands and Bangla Rock. He believes it is a genre that certainly transcends generations, and Kolkata has some star Bangla Rock bands that have stood the test of time never failing to inspire over the years. Why not bring everyone – at least some of them- together on a single stage? Voila, the Unity Concert 2025 was born.
The unveiling of the event took place on October 28, 2025, at Chapter 2 off Southern Avenue that itself is such a fun place with music firmly in its DNA. The showstoppers from Chandrabindoo, Fossils, Lakkhichhara were there and Palash Sen from Euphoria joined with a video from Delhi assuring us thatUnity Concert 2025 promises to be one spectacular event.He’s looking forwardto meet us at the venue as he performs with Euphoria and his “brothers”from the other three bands. He’sdelighted that the concert will provide an opportunity for music lovers to savor organic music that continues to be in a league of its own.
Anindya Chatterjee of Chandrabindoosaid he was excited that Unity Concert 2025 is set to be an event that is poised to strengthen the bond between individual Bangla bands who despite going by their individual calendars and performing in different locations at different times of the year, were, at the core, actually one. To come on the same stage and perform before the same audience was a great thing, he said. He was all praise for the organizers who had provided the opportunity to recreate the aura of the 90s when Bangla bands were every other person’s true music love and toasted everywhere. He proposed Unity Concert evolves to become an ode to original music, to creativity, to artists old and new to perform with the confidence that their music matters to the world and won’t be washed away by film playback music.
The shining stars of Lakkhichhara, Rajiv Mitra, Debaditya Chaudhury, and Gaurab Chatterjee shared how the idea of a common concert surfaced while they were shooting for Go Everywhere’s theme song in June 2025 and why the name ‘Unity Concert’ emerged almost effortlessly out of discussions. “Now that the event has been formally named, it does feel a perfect fit as it evokes all the wonderful sentiments that one associates with Unity”, said Rajiv Mitra.
Debaditya Chaudhury said.” The idea that bands have an undercurrent of rivalry and would much prefer to stay away from each other is pretty far-fetched because I choose to play other bands’ music all the time. I think it is glorious to come on a single platform and play together under the single bracket of ‘Bangla Band’. We are thankful to the organizers who went on to develop the idea that came up months ago and give it form.”
Said Gaurav Chatterjee aka Gaboo,” Excited to be a part of Unity Concert 2025 and play alongside some fabulous bands. Rupam Islam, founding member and lead vocalist of Fossils said,” There can be no messagemore relevant than ‘Unity’ in these times. It is the most dominant sentiment everywhere we look. It makes immense sense to be a part of the Unity Concert 2025 and do our part to foster the feeling of Unity because it’s quite true that United we stand and divided we fall. ‘Fossils’ is proud and privileged to be a part of Unity Concert 2025.”
